It seems like your on the right path and right after starting your kingdom is a difficult time. You can also hire the companions not part of your stable group and send them on rtr missions immidiately then ditch them when they come back. I don't know if rtr will help you, but can you send your companions on missions still, be sure to send them in a non contradictory order or else they won't go. Finally, I don't usually start my kingdom unless I have 45+ right to rule. If a martial lords had higher than 700 renown, and bonus if you have a bit more than 10 relation with them already, I would pick them up. Uphold the rights of nobles is good for picking up some martial lords early on. Consistency matters as they all know what arguments you used on other lords.

Also, I always use the same one or two argument for every Lord no matter what they say, either unify Calradia, or uphold the rights of nobles. Even then some good lords will never defect from their current faction no matter what, but keep a high relation and they will come to you after their faction is deystroyed. I usually figure the relation between my character and the good Lord should be at least 25 points higher than the good Lord and his current lieges relation. Find these good lords and try to persuade them first. Also, a few good lords get mistreated by their liegrs and will have low relations with their current liege, less than 10 relation. First, you didn't say what your honor was at. There are a few things you could focus on. Recruiting Good natured and upstanding lords is difficult, but that's because they are the best to have. I'm not at war with anybody, my Right to Rule is at 33, and so on and so forth.Īt what point can I convince these people to ditch their lords and join me? Should I start with the Martial Lords? Should I just recruit some of the Lords I don't want just so I can have the military forces to make myself seem more appealing and then let them defect later? I've got around 40~ relationship with most of them, 7 Persuasion, 7 Leadership, 19 Charisma, two Lord-less cities, and three lord-less Castles (I have thus far only taken Praven for myself).

The problem I'm running into however is the fact that none of the Lords seem to be willing to join my faction. So this time I'm trying to recruit only the Good-Natured, Upstanding, and maybe a few Martial Lords. In both of my runs I've attempted to forge my own empire simply by kicking the shit out of everyone else and declaring myself king, but I abandoned my first playthrough once I made the mistake of recruiting a bunch of Quarrelsome and Debauched Lords that showed up in my capital. So this is my second playthrough of Mount & Blade.
